Duluth, MinnesotaThe new UMD Bulldog Sports Center will accommodate the training and competition needs of the UMD Women's Ice Hockey Team and also be used by the Men's Hockey Team for practice and training. Four hundred UMD varsity athletes from all programs will use the new conditioning area. The new facility will include support areas for physiological and biomedical testing, weight training, athletic therapy and rehabilitation, equipment storage, classrooms, office space, a recruiting and alumni lounge, a hockey resource center, and an arena to accommodate over 3,000 spectators. The building will be specific in function to appeal to the high performance intercollegiate athlete and also flexible to permit a variety of community and recreational alternative uses.
