Other amenities of this facility include a cyber cafe and an outdoor dining area. The upper two floors are home to the Modern Language Center and departments of Modern and Classical Languages. Integrated classrooms, language labs and faculty offices are included in this unique mixed use facility. The building's design is intended to create a visual bridge between adjacent historic and modern campus buildings. The first floor dining hall is designed to be very transparent allowing sunlight to penetrate deeply into the space while creating views out to the newly landscaped quad. Daylighting and energy use are carefully monitored within the building. Materials were selected on the basis of being environmentally friendly.
