Carson-Tahoe Hospital Cancer Center
Carson City, NevadaHGA created a comprehensive space program, conceptual block floor plans and conceptual exterior design for the Carson-Tahoe Cancer Center in Carson City, Nevada. Carson-Tahoe has the only freestanding, accredited cancer center in Nevada. This $10 million facility, which opened in the spring of 2006, is approximately 35,000 square feet. It includes radiation oncology with two linear accelerators, medical oncology with 20 positions for chemotherapy/infusion, and alternative therapies. HGA's design focused on hospitality and nature while offering as many treatment services as possible in one place. In addition to its homey environment and up-to-date technology, the Cancer Center offers an award-winning Cancer Resource Center, which empowers patients to be active participants in their care. To complete the healing environment, views of Eagle Valley, a rooftop terrace, signature pergolas and native stone façades make the campus inviting and help ease stress during taxing visits.
