F.A.I.R. Arts Middle School Telecommunications
Crystal, MinnesotaChallenge Provide information technology systems to support formal and informal learning by providing access to information and supporting communication between students, teachers, parents, staff and the community. Solution HGA's telecommunications design services team designed a network infrastructure capable of sharing both information and equipment resources. Access to learning materials and resource information is provided by a local area network within the school, and a wide area network that connects all of the district's schools and the district office. The voice solution links communications within the school with the local public telephone network. Integrated voice mail and attendance features were linked to the district wide, private branch exchange. A broadband video application allows broadcast capabilities within the school, access to local cable television programming and district-wide broadcasts over the district's Instructional Cable Network. The structured cabling design supports the applications installed as well as applications envisioned for future installation.
