Faithful Shepherd K-8 School Telecommunications
Eagan, MinnesotaFaithful Shepherd Catholic School was the first Catholic school to be built in the St. Paul or Minneapolis Archdiocese in 30 years. HGA's telecommunications design services team worked with the school to provide an integrated technology solution that includes such features as voice and data infrastructure, local area network access components, private branch exchange (PBX), broadband video distribution and paging. The structured cabling system design provides an effective, flexible solution capable of supporting both current and future communications applications. The PBX (phone system) provides voice communications capabilities both within the school and outside the school to the public telephone network, integrates with the school's voice mail system and supplies the communications link to the internet for their data network. The broadband video distribution system utilizes connections to the local CATV provider for access to their broadcast channels and interactive capabilities for two-way distribution within the school. In addition to traditional paging features, the paging system is linked to the voice network, which provides the flexibility of having music input from multiple sources.
