Fremont-Rideout Health Group Community Cancer Treatment Center
Marysville, CaliforniaWhile most hospital-based cancer centers are located in the hospital's basement, the Fremont-Rideout Community Cancer Treatment Center (affiliated with the UC Davis Health System) is a ground level, freestanding facility. HGA designed a welcoming residential exterior that blends healing gardens with "hospitality industry comfort" to deliver community-based cancer treatment to a rural area. The interior finishes include cherry wood floors, an oversized fireplace with a hearth, lion head fountains, custom insert area rugs and a community-oriented "Library for Life." This 21,095-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility furthers UC Davis' long-term goal of becoming a nationally designated Center for Cancer Treatment under the auspices of the National Cancer Institute. It serves the needs of medical and radiation oncology patients under one roof, which fosters clinical collaboration and convenience for patients and caregivers.
