Froedtert Hospital, Ambulatory Surgery Center
Milwaukee, WisconsinWhen Froedtert Hospital, the Medical College of Wisconsin and Advanced Healthcare formed a partnership to develop a new freestanding Ambulatory Surgery Center on the Froedtert Hospital campus, they called on HGA to design it. Our Medical Planners originally developed an overall campus master plan in 1997-consolidating a county hospital and a privately managed hospital-which provided a strong location for the Ambulatory Surgery Center both now and in the future.
HGA designed this state-of-the-art, five-operating-room, 20,000-square-foot facility to host Orthopedic, ENT and GI procedures while offering the latest in micro-surgery and non-invasive diagnostic technologies. The design optimizes adjacencies to allow flexing of rooms between prep and recovery functions and to support efficient flow of patients and staff, and will accommodate the future addition of another five-operating-room pod.
