General Mills World Headquarters

Golden Valley, Minnesota

The General Mills expansion, which includes an Office Building and Employee Service Building, reinterprets the campus's modern architecture through lighting systems that enhance the clean, modular architecture while providing warmth.
The three-story atrium in the Employee Service Building features an artist-designed glass sculpture with patterns of colored light projected by the concealed uplights. In the auditorium, lighting reveals warm wood panels, while custom sconces create sparkles. Upscale executive offices are simply lit with energy-efficient fluorescent downlights to create an elegant environment. The two-story dining space reflects the design concept of clean lines, perfect circles and restricted modularity. The lighting achieves the modern architectural essentials: Simple geometry and connection to nature.
