General Mills World Headquarters Telecommunications
Golden Valley, MinnesotaHGA has had a working relationship with General Mills for over 20 years, providing ongoing services for their main headquarters campus. When faced with the challenge of integrating General Mills with Pillsbury, they called on HGA to provide the right mix of business expertise to rise to the challenge. The resulting plan became the General Mills New World Headquarters facility, a 513,000 GSF space that includes an office building for a staff of 3,600 and a Town Center that contains a cafeteria and community center with auditorium and fitness center. As part of their full-service architecture and engineering services, HGA's Telecommunications Design Services Group worked closely with General Mills' in-house IT group to design an advanced telecommunications cabling infrastructure. HGA collaborated with the General Mills team to create design drawings, write specifications, evaluate bids and make the vendor selection. Completed in 2003, the General Mills New World Headquarters facility telecommunications infrastructure incorporates an integrated cabling and wireless local area network with approximately 2,000 voice/data outlets.
