Innovis Health Community Hospital
Fargo, North DakotaPhysicians at Dakota Clinic in Fargo, North Dakota, were limited to outpatient services because they had no inpatient facilities of their own. In a bold yet profitable move, Dakota Clinic enlisted HGA's help to design a facility that combined 100,000 square feet of outpatient clinic space with a 110-bed capacity specialty inpatient facility, Innovis Health. Open since 2000, Innovis Health is located on a 17-acre site at a major intersection in an area of rapid commercial growth in south Fargo. A striking seven-story atrium links all levels of the outpatient and inpatient wings and provides a welcoming central entrance for both. The hospital offers an emphasis on the specialties of cardiology, neurology, orthopedics and obstetrics/NICU. Both wings make use of horizontal adjacencies of related specialties and shared diagnostics to maximize efficiency and quality of care. The hospital wing is based on a racetrack plan with centralized nurse stations and support spaces. All the patient rooms are private with large windows that provide exceptional views.
