John Muir Medical Center 23-bed Medical Surgical Nursing Unit

This 14,000-square-foot renovation on the fifth floor of the John Muir Medical Center is designed with the patients' comfort in mind. The 23-bed nursing unit features all-private rooms, including five patient suites designed and furnished to accommodate overnight family members. Avoiding intense colors and tones, HGA instead chose soft, natural colors to provide a soothing environment for post-surgical patients. The patient suites include a sliding shoji-type screen to separate the patient zone from the visitor zone for privacy. The visitor zone includes a mini-fridge under the counter and a sleep bench with storage.
