Medtronic World Headquarters Civil Engineering

Medtronic developed a new corporate facility with offices, laboratories, and structured parking on a 46-acre site in Fridley. Inherent challenges with the site included reconfiguration of existing public roads and utilities to create optimum space for the new facilities; correcting unsuitable foundation soils; controlling potential groundwater problems; and obtaining all required land development approvals to meet the prompt project schedule. In addition to the typical site work construction documents, civil engineering services included:

• Preparation of the required drawings and exhibits to obtain the required land development permits and approvals from the City of Fridley and other regulatory agencies.


• Storm water analysis, design, and documentation of required management practices.


• Preparation of construction drawings for off-site roadway improvements.
