Oshkosh, WisconsinMercy Medical Center, a comprehensive community hospital replacement facility, is located on a 30-acre site on a major artery in a growing residential area. HGA designed the Center to promote customer convenience. All outpatient diagnostic and treatment services are grouped by the patient activity type and are adjacent to inpatient care functions needing similar services. All scheduled diagnostic and testing functions are combined into a single point of reception on the ground level. For maximum staffing efficiency, all major diagnostic services are contiguous. They surround the customer service center, allowing trained staff to work within their respective areas when needed and provide patient-focused outpatient services. Ambulatory surgery and recovery areas are immediately adjacent to the inpatient unit, separating the ambulatory patients while maintaining the flexibility to share staff and supplies.
