Orange City Area Health System

Orange City, Iowa

Orange City Area Health System's vision is to serve the community as a rural regional health service provider. HGA developed a facility master plan that helped Orange City retool their organization for maximum operational efficiency. With their new facility, the hospital's leadership reinvented the organization as a regional healthcare provider that can now compete with larger competition down the road. The master plan placed a priority on patient safety, privacy and dignity, and on providing ample room for growth as new services develop. HGA designed a 120,000-square-foot freestanding replacement hospital with integrated clinic, accommodating 25 patient beds, Outpatient Procedural Services, Diagnostics and Emergency Services. The new hospital, which opened in January of 2006, maximizes the use of natural light and materials such as wood and stone, creating a connection to the exterior and site. related quote
