Ice Arena at Parade
Minneapolis, MinnesotaIce Arena at Parade demonstrates how commonly selected materials with attractive colors can effectively serve a primarily school-age population under the most active of uses. All elements of the building are being built to last given the most severe treatment of hockey skates and hockey sticks, yet continually looking bright and attractive. This facility is a spectator-oriented third ice sheet attached at one end to the existing Ice Gardens at Parade. The arrangement allows independent access to the existing hockey and figure skating rinks or new spectator facility, or a combined use of both. Supervision offices were enlarged to allow a single operator to monitor activities at all three ice sheets.
