Playwrights' Center
Minneapolis, MinnesotaFor more than 28 years the Playwrights' Center has played a behind-the-scenes role in bringing new theater to the Twin Cities and across the country. The work of Center Playwrights has won three Pulitzers, The Tony, The Oliver and numerous OBIES. The renovation helped to create a close connection between playwrights and the audience. The guiding design principles of this interior renovation is to expose the unique character of the Playwrights' Center as a work shop, while respecting and revealing the history of the turn of the century Victorian church in which it is housed. The renovation provides the Playwrights' Center with a flexible 120 seat black box theater, dressing rooms, rehearsal spaces, as well as flexible office spaces for playwrights and staff.
