Rochester Government Center Skyway System

In 1993 Rochester and Olmsted County built a joint government center across the river from the downtown and the renowned Mayo Clinic. HGA was commissioned to "skyway" from the existing downtown system 430 linear feet to the Government Center and connecting to public parking ramps, highrise housing and the convention/library center. The design solution is an elegant expression of structural engineering offering users broad views of downtown and the Zumbro riverfront and uniting Rochester's Government and Civic Centers' facilities on both sides of the River.
