Saint Albert The Great Church
Sun Prairie, WisconsinSt. Albert The Great Parish was undergoing tremendous growth as a result of its location in a growing city just nearby Madison, Wisconsin. The project includes four key components including a new Dedicated Worship Space, Gathering Space, Chapel and Parish Center. A site master plan was developed so that future expanded functions of Administration, Music and Education may be integrated into the facility as the parish continues to grow. The Dedicated Worship Space provides seating for 900 people. Overflow seating is accommodated in an Ambulatory Space that surrounds the Worship Space on three sides. Welcoming and sociability functions take place in the nearby Gathering Space. The existing Parish Center was renovated to compliment religious education programs and various meetings of the faith community. Because of its location on the prairies of Central Wisconsin, the building has been designed to harmonize with the landscape. The exterior is clad with indigenous natural materials. Near the building are areas of highly-groomed landscape creating outdoor areas for education and worship.
