Saint Elizabeth Hospital Children's Health Center
Appleton, WisconsinWhen Saint Elizabeth's Hospital needed to relocate their Children's Health Center to their South Building, they called on HGA. With this move and redesign, the Health Center almost tripled in size. Designers grouped dedicated diagnostics off the main Family Waiting Room, providing all necessary services within the clinic itself. The interior design reinforces child wellness through interactive learning kiosks, wall murals and age-appropriate educational view ports built into the corridor walls.
Staff work areas are clustered in the middle of the Health Center, reducing travel distance and fostering communication among clinicians. In the NICU, large group rooms are clustered along the spine of the Center, allowing access from the public corridor as well as the physician corridor. Patient privacy was a paramount concern, so every effort was made to cluster waiting into smaller private areas.
