Saint Patrick Church
Lake Forest, IllinoisThis suburban Chicago parish, which was founded 150 years ago, has grown rapidly over the last several years. The century-old country church is no longer adequate in size to serve the needs of the congregation. HGA developed a master plan for new facilities which incorporate the existing church, parish center, and rectory into the overall composition. The charming old brick church structure will be retained as a chapel to serve special needs. A new worship space is the central feature of the new facilities. Seating over 750 people, the pews are arranged in a non-traditional fashion to create a warm, intimate, and prayerful setting. A Gathering Space, designed for overflow crowds and social gatherings after liturgy, is located near the main entrance to the facility. The existing Parish Center is being renovated to provide for the educational needs of the congregation.
