University of California-Davis, Center for Companion Animal Health and the Center for Comparative Genomics

Davis, California

HGA provided the programming and preliminary design for the Center for Companion Animal Health and the Center for Comparative Genomics Building. This building is a world class facility within the School of Veterinary Medicine. The goal is to improve the health, longevity and quality of life for pets of all species through research into the health of companion animals. It is about providing spaces for researchers and veterinary medicine to enhance their abilities to improve the care and treatment of companion animals.
The facility consists of a new two story building of 35,496 GSF attached with a second story bridge to the existing Vet Med II Building.
The first floor supports the Animal Health Clinic with Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology. The entry gives a feeling of both technology and warmth, welcoming families and their pets.
The second floor supports the Research Program, providing administrative spaces for both "CCAH" Center for Companion Animal Health and "CCG" the Center for Comparative Genomics.
