HGA Architects and Engineers Receives Two Design Awards

Minneapolis, MN - The Minneapolis office of HGA Architects and Engineers received two 2005 AIA Minnesota Honor Awards at a ceremony held December 2, 2005 at The University of Minnesota's McNamara Alumni Center. During the 2005 AIA Minnesota Annual Convention and Exhibition, held in November, the jury chose 13 projects to receive Honor Awards, two of which were designed by HGA. The AIA Minnesota Honor Awards program recognizes architectural excellence, and honors the clients and architects that make such buildings possible. HGA won awards for the following projects: Live/Work Artists' Housing in Mt. Rainier, MD received an honor award. The project's design architect, Tim Carl, found his inspiration in the fabric and historical context of the surrounding neighborhood. Juror Karen Van Lengen, AIA commented, "This project proves that low budgets and good design are not mutually exclusive." Dittmann Center for Art %26 Dance at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN received an honor award for the careful renovation and reclamation of a 1950s building, with a "subtle design that adds a newness to improve the building without overpowering it." :: View Live/Work Artists' Housing :: View St. Olaf College Dittmann Center for Art and Dance
