Sean Collins Promoted to Associate Vice Presient of HGA Architect and Engineers

Los Angeles, CA - HGA Architects and Engineers (HGA) has promoted Sean M. Collins, AIA, LEED® AP, to associate vice president. As a project manager in the Los Angeles office, Collins works with a variety of project types, including healthcare and higher education. He is currently involved in the planning and design of a major addition to Stanford University's Lucile Packard Children's Hospital.
"Sean's strong communication skills bring clients and project teams together to work toward a common goal," said Stan Chiu, AIA, LEED® AP, vice president in the firm’s Los Angeles office. "His ability to determine solutions for clients based on their needs and the project requirements has been an asset to our firm for ten years. We are pleased to recognize his accomplishments with this promotion."
During his decade at HGA, Collins' project experience has included managing seismic compliance for a number of hospital campuses, as well as new construction projects at colleges throughout Southern California. He directed a team on the expansion of the Outpatient Cancer Center at the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, which included renovations to exam, treatment, waiting and lab spaces. Collins led the Expansion and Feasibility study for the expansion and renovation of the California African American Museum (CAAM), which is currently in Schematic Design. Collins has also been involved in the construction of a 99,000-square-foot bookstore and dining complex to become the heart of the California State University, Los Angeles campus and the creation of a $40 million laboratory research and instruction building at the University of California, Riverside.
As a LEED® Accredited Professional, Collins has been involved in several sustainable design and urban-infill projects, including East Los Angeles College's new, $45 million Math and Science Complex, which will be submitted for LEED® certification, and the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital expansion, which will achieve a high level of sustainability.
Collins received his bachelor's degree in architecture from the University of Southern California in 1998. He is a registered architect in California and Arizona.
