HGA Architects and Engineers Hires Scott Georgeson as Theater Architect for Milwaukee Offices

Milwaukee, WI - HGA Architects and Engineers (HGA), an integrated architecture, engineering and planning firm, has hired architect Scott Georgeson, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, as a Senior Associate with the firm's Milwaukee Office. Georgeson will strengthen HGA's position as a recognized leader in the planning and design of arts facilities. "Scott's expertise aligns extremely well with our mission of providing leading edge performing art facilities to our clients nationally, with a commitment towards green technologies and sustainable systems," says Jim Vander Heiden, vice president and principal with HGA's Art, Community and Education practice group. "His perspective will offer new insights to our Performing and Visual Arts clients and to the HGA teams that currently serve them. Scott's process of working closely with clients to tailor unique planning responses to each project's specific goals has resulted in highly refined and diverse projects." Georgeson is an award-winning architect with more than 20 years of experience designing theaters and performing arts centers throughout North America. He is currently working on plans for the renovation of the Avalon Theatre in Milwaukee. Prior experience includes design and construction of the new theatre for Peninsula Players Theatre in Door County, Wisconsin. His design captures the historic qualities of the Peninsula Players' previous theatre. He continues to work with them on reuse of the historic support buildings. He has presented at League of Historic American Theatres (LHAT) conventions on subjects ranging from building codes, historical preservation, and construction costs of theaters. Georgeson has a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. A registered architect in Wisconsin and Illinois, he has accreditation from the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, and is a LEED Accredited Professional. He is also an active member of LHAT, as well as United States Institute for Theater Technology (USITT), for which he is chairing the Student Design Competition for the USITT Architectural Committee.
