Great Plains Regional Medical Center Awards HGA Architects and Engineers Regional Hospital Addition

Minneapolis, MN - HGA Architects and Engineers (HGA) has been selected by Oklahoma's Great Plains Regional Medical Center (GPRMC) to lead the design of a new replacement hospital to meet the growing needs of the surrounding communities in the Western Oklahoma / Eastern Texas Panhandle region. The new, 150,000 square-foot facility will support GPRMC's position as a leading provider of comprehensive, cost-effective, high quality healthcare. "The Great Plains Regional Medical Center is dedicated to delivering top-notch services," said HGA Principal Dan Rectenwald. "Working with GPRMC, HGA will design a hospital that meets the Center's high standards, as well as the needs of its patients." HGA was chosen for the project because of its operational planning, lean design expertise and patient centered design experience. HGA's commitment to design research and project successes in the region also impressed the medial center. Leider Consulting will team with HGA to provide programming for the project. HGA recently completed the new 177,000-square-foot Natalie Building, part of the Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The glass-clad medical office building and ambulatory surgery center included a four-story rotunda with an indoor garden, an atrium adjoining the surgery waiting area, and a roof plaza with skylights into the operating recovery room. Construction is expected to begin on the Great Plains Regional Medical Center hospital the summer of 2007, with the opening scheduled for late spring 2009. :: View Great Plains Regional Medical Center
