HGA Architects and Engineers' Sacramento Office Promotes Four

Sacramento, CA - The Sacramento office of HGA Architects and Engineers (HGA) has promoted Woo Cheong to senior associate; and May-Lin Chang, LEEDŽ AP, Robert Myers, P.E., and Amy White, IIDA, to associate. Cheong and Chang are part of the firm's architectural studio, while Myers serves as a structural engineer. White is an interior designer. As a project manager specializing in healthcare, Cheong has managed teams on projects for such clients as Kaiser Permanente, Sutter Health, Catholic Healthcare West and Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare Foundation. His experience includes directing collaborative teams during construction, overseeing budgets and schedules, construction documentation, contract administration and quality control. Cheong received a master's degree in architecture from the University of Minnesota in 1993. He also holds a bachelor's degree in architecture from Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea. Cheong is a registered architect in California and North Dakota. Chang also specializes in healthcare, serving as a designer for projects across California and Nevada, including Sutter Roseville Medical Center's bed tower, acute rehabilitation center, family birthing, emergency department and intensive care unit expansions; the women's center and several laboratories at Community Medical Center in Fresno, Calif.; and the Sutter Health prototype hospital "co-opetition." A LEEDŽ Accredited Professional, Chang earned a bachelor's degree in architecture at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee in 2001. On the engineering side, Myers is responsible for implementing structural design solutions and overseeing plans to ensure structural integrity. A project engineer with almost 10 years of combined technical and engineering experience, Myers has worked on healthcare, educational, corporate and cultural projects. Some of his notable structural work includes several projects for Sutter Health, multiple facilities for the East Texas Medical Center, new and renovated buildings for community colleges throughout California and Light Rail Transit for Minnesota's Metropolitan Airport Commission. In 2003, Myers graduated from the University of Minnesota with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering. White serves as a lead interior designer for healthcare projects, coordinating interior architecture finishes, materials, furnishings, color and lighting. She uses a collaborative approach to ensure that interior environments are appropriate for patients and their caregivers. Her work can be seen at the Carson Tahoe Cancer Center; the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in San Francisco; Sutter Regional Medical Foundation's Fairfield campus; and the emergency department, lobby and cafeteria at Methodist Hospital in Sacramento. In addition, White designed the interiors for HGA's Sacramento office and the Rock of Roseville church. White holds a bachelor's degree in interior design from California State University, Sacramento, which she earned in 2003. She also received a bachelor's degree in art studio from the University of California, Davis in 1997. White is a certified interior designer in California.
