HGA Hires Joseph M. Madda as Associate Vice President and Principal
Los Angeles, CA - Joseph M. Madda, AIA, NCARB, LEEDŽ AP, has joined the Los Angeles office of HGA Architects and Engineers (HGA) as a principal and associate vice president. Madda will leverage his design and project management expertise to reinforce the firm's growing Healthcare Practice Group.
"Joe has a strong professional background working on a wide range of projects in California and throughout the U.S.," said Michael Ross, FAIA, vice president and managing principal of HGA's Los Angeles office. "His successful background in healthcare design will prove a particular asset as we expand our range of services and resources for healthcare clients. We are fortunate to have him on our team."
Madda has more than 30 years design and construction experience, ranging from feasibility analysis to programming, planning, facility design and construction administration. In addition to healthcare, his project portfolio includes higher education, civic, defense, corporate, interiors, entertainment and retail.
"I help the client formulate a worthy vision and a reliable process to achieve that vision," Madda says. "I look for potential collaborators who are passionate about place making and who have a well thought-out approach to achieve it."
Before joining HGA, Madda was a senior associate with Lee, Burkhart, Liu Inc. in Marina del Rey, Calif., where he was project manager on numerous healthcare design and construction projects. Among his accomplishments is the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital Replacement Project, a $550 million, 337-bed multiphase project in Santa Barbara, Calif.
Previous to that role, he was a senior associate with HOK in Culver City, Calif., where he led architecture and engineering services for the 600-bed, multiphase Los Angeles County %2B University of Southern California Medical Center Replacement project.
Madda is a skilled speaker who has presented at national conferences for the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the U.S. Naval Facilities Command, the Society for Professional Marketing Services, and the University of Southern California School of Engineering.
Madda has a master's degree in architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a bachelor's degree in studio arts from Georgetown University. He is a licensed architect in California and Illinois, and a member of the AIA.
