HGA's Rochester Office Wins "Business of the Year" Award

Rochester, MN - HGA Architects and Engineers' Rochester office received the "Business of the Year" award through the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce at its annual Member Celebration October 25. The annual award recognizes a Rochester area business for its professionalism, contribution to civic vitality, and employee leadership and volunteer activities that enhance the community. "This award is a great honor that acknowledges HGA's commitment to practice community and environmental stewardship," said Steve Fiskum, Chief Operating Officer of HGA. "As part of our corporate mission, we encourage everyone to get involved to help make our communities better places in which to live." Since opening its Rochester office in the early 1990s, HGA has made sizable contributions to the region's businesses and institutions. Recent projects include a new Rochester campus for the University of Minnesota, the Minnesota BioBusiness Center in downtown Rochester, and on-going work for the Mayo Clinic. The Minnesota BioBusiness Center, for instance, is a mixed-use office building that will provide space for the Mayo Foundation, for medical education and research, and other private research-and-development companies. Similarly, the UM Rochester campus provides a "strategically located, innovative facility for the university to increase its community outreach in a highly visible downtown location," said Hal Henderson, vice president and principal with HGA's Rochester office. HGA was selected from more than 1,200 area businesses representing nearly 70,000 employees. Approximately 30 HGA team members of the firm's 500 employees work in the Rochester office.
