HGA Wins Best of Show in National Marketing Communications Awards Programs

HGA Architects and Engineers (HGA) won Best of Show in the national Marketing Communications Awards program through the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS). The Best of Show Award was selected from nearly 360 submissions from across the United States and Canada during SMPS's annual conference and awards program held in Washington, D.C., this past August. HGA took first place in the Specific Project Marketing category during initial judging for its proposal of the new Fort Snelling Visitor Center and Museum in St. Paul, Minnesota. First place winners in 18 categories then competed for Best of Show during the annual conference, where category winners and the Best of Show were announced during a gala dinner. The firm's winning entry included a saddle-stitched booklet with historic black-and-white Fort Snelling photos and narrative text addressing the request-for-proposal requirements, a detailed site model, and a leave-behind booklet with commemorative photos and quotes. Jurors praised the submission for its "thorough presentation of historic photographs used effectively throughout. The layout was excellent and highlighted [HGA's] historic preservation expertise. The firm won the contract and left a great leave-behind for the selection committee that spoke directly to the client's needs." The Best of Show jurors included leading marketing, communications and media specialists working within the architecture/engineering/construction (A/E/C) industries. SMPS, based in Alexandria, Virginia, is the national professional marketing association for the A/E/C industries.
