Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation - Plymouth
Creating Safe Space for Addiction Treatment
Part of HGA’s on-going, multi-campus work for Hazelden, an addiction-treatment center for adolescents and young adults, Hazelden Plymouth (MN) is designed to evoke a sense of safety, personal discovery, collaboration, and understanding.
Located on a 15-acre site within yards of a serene lake and regional park, the 49,000-SF expansion and renovation includes a reception lobby, private admission area, new 32-bed unit for female patients, recreational gym with climbing wall, music therapy room, art therapy room, classroom, family-program space, mental-health services space, renovated dining room, and reconfigured staff space.
Residents and their families enter a light-filled reception lobby trimmed with warm colors, cherry wood, and regional limestone. An adjacent family lounge provides comfortable seating surrounding a fireplace and outdoor views. The secure residential sleeping units beyond the reception lobby provide both private and community space, from half-height walls separating individual sleeping spaces to community-focused living room, quiet lounge, and snack area for group activity.
